Raw

99% of our soaps are raw as the dough is not heated over 117 degrees, keeping all ingredient properties as intact as they can. The 1% is for the occasional dream time in the kitchen.
What are Mica and Clay
Mica that way we use it is like crushed rock. It's often found as pigment in make up and is known for its shimmering quality. It's a naturally occurring colorful minerals.

Scientifically speaking, mica is any of a group of hydrous potassium, aluminum silicate minerals. It is a type of phyllosilicate, exhibiting a two-dimensional sheet or layer structure. Among the principal rock-forming minerals, micas are found in all three major rock varieties—igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.  See Encyclopedia Britannica for more specific information.

Clay is a fine-grained natural rock or soil material. There are many different types of clay  and they  have been used historically and to present day to make pottery. Clay facial masks are also common uses for clay certain type of red and green clays. We use  specifically green montmorilite and red clays in select soaps.

We use clay and mica in our soaps because of the benefits they bring. They  are both natural, raw mineral pigments that allow us to color our soaps and make beautiful designs, patterns, and styles without the use of  any chemicals. Because they can be found in nature they will respect our skin composition, easily biodegrade in the water system, and keeping toxins out of our cleaning routines.

That being said, we know there are some who may want to simplify  further, so we offer mica free, clay free, both mica and clay free, as well as unscented options.
