Storage & Use
Leave it unwrapped in the air to cure, and it will shrink during the extra drying time. My grandmother used to tell me, “Nancy, never use soap right after you buy it. Leave it on a shelf for at least a year.” The longer it cures for, the harder it will be, therefore the longer it will last (and the more it will spare our water system!).
When using, make sure it doesn’t sit in water. If your soap starts to melt, simply use another one while you leave it to dry. We find that having bars of soap drying behind our towels works very well and makes our towels smell good.
